As far as I can tell, this forum is very much in "fledgling" form, so the lack of many features is to be expected. Can we expect to see private messages, spoiler blocks, avatars, signatures, built-in smilies, deleting posts, the ability to view other users profiles by clicking on their names, and such in the future? Are any of these already there and I just don't know about it?



I also have a few aesthetic ideas...


-Put a post count in the same location as registration date.

-Please, use more than one shade of gray, or even branch out into other colors (there's purple on the top of the page there, maybe use that?) With more variety in color, you could make the boxes containing the post title and the user information more separate from the actual post content.

-Put a little row on the bottom of each post with the "last edited" label, as well as the quote button, edit button, and the optional (but useful) delete post and multi-quote buttons. I dislike have the last edited tag as a part of the post, as it seems to be now.

-Avatars? =D

Yup. I'm using a very new, non-php, non-what-everyone-else-uses, forum codebase.

That gives me that capability to tie it directly to the rolling/character engine, but it also means I am missing some common features.

Yes, though I haven't finized the priority on the tasks.

Right now, I'm thinking:

Profile view & post count should be trivial. Just a template edit.

Aren't smilies built in already? I thought they were.

I can delete posts, so can mods. I think adding the ability to have owners delete shouldn't be a biggie.

Avatars are in the works, on a longer time scale.

PMs are after that. A bit more work, though I have the code mostly done. It is more an interface issue than a programming one.

Isn't there already a post count on the profile? Are you asking about something else.

Colors - Hm. I like the base color set. Everything is extremely CSS styled however, so if you want to propose a CSS setting for one of the boxes, go ahead and if i like it I'll add it.

Last edited - lower priority for me at the moment, but a ghood idea.

Some way to hide loooooooong stat blocks. Like character sheets. That way we don't have to scroll through a post longer than our monitors.

One forum I post on uses sblocks. When implemented, they hide everything with a show button. Click show and the hidden portion pops up. Hit the button again and it hides it. So far I can't figure out how to do it on here, if there is a way to do it on here at all.

Perhaps an option to view more posts per page than 10 if that is possible, having to load several pages in a fast move thread would be a pain.

When you are writing a reply to a thread, how about being able to see the last few posts before yours by scrolling down. That way you don't have to open a seperate window for the reply. This is mainly an issue during a PbP game.
